Late JKLF leader Amanullah Khan's interview with Hamid Mir on the question of Musharraf formula for Kashmir. [click to view video]

This is the policy adopted by both India and Pakistan to create and
maintained a situation of confusion just to divert public attention.
Indian behind the close doors had promoted an idea of international
conspiracy of an independent Kashmir from 1948 onward and exactly
the same theory of conpiracy had been promoted by Pakistani rulers.
The reason may be their own guilty conscious because they themselves
had been part of international conspiracies. India was involved against
China along with West, headed by US in late 50's and early 60's and
Pakistan is known to the world.

Therefore they think every demand for liberation is part of conspiracy. Every
thief thinks that everyone else is a thief. They failed to realize the fact that
right to self-determination is fundamental of every democratic system.

Fifteen (15) Soviets Republics according to their constitution, took their own
decision, without firing a single bullet. Every state in US is entitled to
exercise their democratic right to succeed from Federation. We had seen
referendums in Scotland, Quebec resulting in satisfaction of public
sentiments without firing a single bullet. Democracy is the name of
alternative to violence, where dialogue, arbitration, judicial forum and
finally vote to decide and satisfied the diverse and conflicting claims and
counter claims.

We do recognize that Kashmir is not simple question such as Scotland or
Quebec, because, it is a land which belong to a diverse trends in terms of
multi-national, multi-culture and multi-religious prejudices. This is the
reason that all Kashmiri regardless of their diverse political affiliation are
agreed upon the fact that let the people to have free movement in their own
land. This would enable them to be more creative and forward looking in
their participation of conflict resolution and peace building. This would
also pave the way to enable them to elect their representatives. If this
process as well as UN body to be allowed to help Kashmir on all sides, so
that they can take their matters in their own hands. I am sure and world
recognized this fact that people of Kashmir are matured enough to see what
is good for them and what is bad. They can elect their own representatives
under UN supervision, so to formulate a future draft constitution which
would have to satisfy all segments of society and finally to be put before
people to approve or reject by using their voting right. The relationship
with India, Pakistan or any other neighbour could be settled down through
a bilateral negotiation guided by bilateral interests.

I wonder where the problem is. Why this bloodshed is going on? Who is the
beneficiary of this artificial hostility and why? People of sub-continent need
to think over it.
